Has anyone heard of ill fitting contacts causing iritis?

Post by becca »

I was diagnosed with iritis last week. Its a bummer, huh.

I was fitted for new contacts(AVA) two weeks before that. They were completly glued to my eyes. They were hard to get out and when I did take them out my eyes were super dry. My eyes were feeling slightly irritated. They hadn't felt irritated at all with my old contacts. Two weeks later, I had iritis. I've never had it before and I was told that it had nothing to do with the new contacts. So I was wondering if anyone had heard of porely fitted contacts causing irits.

Thanks, Becca

Trauma

Post by Mike Bartolatz »

you could consider this event to be a form of trauma to the eye and as such it MIGHT cause a bout of uveitis. Get glasses and see if the dry eyes continues. if the uveitis remains constant or returns seek guidance from one of the Uveitis specialists on our list.

wish you the best,
Mike
