Re: Iritis and light flashes
Hello I realize most of these posts are old... but I wanted to inquire. I'm a 38 yr old female suffering with chronic uveitis, cystoid macular edema, and HLA-B27 positive. I've been thru a vitrectomy and cataract surgery. My right eye is presently inflamed and I'm starting to see flashes. This bothers me. I've had iritis numerous times and never had flashers. I have a few transparent floaters showing up. I've been on pred forte six times a day for the last week. The pain has only intensified. At what point do you go back to the doctor when the drops don't seem to help? I usually use durezol but my insurance declined it. I've been on the methotrexate kind of meds, and they just beat me down. I was being seen by a uveitis specialists at John's Hopkins in Baltimore, but the distance makes that very hard to continue. So how long do I let this keep going? My eye has already experienced vision loss (once 20/20 now 20/50) and I really don't want that part getting any worse. Tips? Suggestions? Help?
Re: Iritis and light flashes
Thanks for the response Vancouver, my eye feels like it may be improving. The pain has decreased over last few hours. I've spent most of the day in bed to relieve some of the pain. The whole right side of my face was killing me earlier. Tho I did take 2 excedrin migraine a few hours ago. Will see how it is come morning. You say I have more experience? Not sure what you mean by that, other than all the crap I've dealt with all because I didn't treat iritis in a timely manner and it got so bad my vision went white. Ever since then, it's an ongoing battle.
