Hi all,
My name is Alexandra and I am 24 years old. This January I suddenly developed iritis in just my left eye. It came on quick and painful. I visited my doctor who sent me to an ophthalmologist who put me on some eye drops with antibiotics that worked for a few days, then it just for worse. Then he put me on durazol which worked great.
March I developed it again. This time I went to an Iritis specialist, Dr. Weisz. We did the durazol taper again and it worked. This time I was tested for ankylosing spondylitis and my lab results were negative.
Fast forward to May, here I am again. We did a prednisone pack and durazol taper. He said I may need to be on the durazol drops long term, which put me at risks for cataracts, but so does doing nothing.
I am concerned. There is no family history. I have no idea where this all is coming from. Should I see a rheumatologist? Any reccomendations would truly help!

Most iritis does not have a systematic disease associated with it. Cataracts are not a big deal. If you have pressure problems you might try drugs that modify immune system.
