Sleep Apnea? Better check your vision

SLEEP APNEA? BETTER CHECK YOUR VISION
If you have sleep apnea, be sure to get regular eye exams, including glaucoma screening. Mayo Clinic researchers found a
link between apnea and glaucoma, floppy eyelid syndrome (which causes tearing and blurred vision), and a type of optic
neuropathy (which can cause vision loss). Conversely, if you have any of these eye disorders, you should talk to your doctor
about sleep apnea, which is characterized by repeated episodes of stopped breathing and then gasping to recover. Besides
causing daytime drowsiness, sleep apnea increases the risk of hypertension, heart disease, and other medical problems.
