I've been reading the posts on this site on and off for about 6 months and thought it time that I finally joined and made use of this great resource! I've had recurring iritis for three years now, and it's become much more chronic in the last 8 months or so. I've been "worked over" for underlying conditions - lupus, arthritis, etc - and the tests were all negative. My eye care has been pretty good - I go to the eye clinic at St. Michael's Hospital, a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto -, but I'm frustrated that the iritis keeps coming back, especially since I'm at risk for glaucoma (both because of my reaction to the steroids and genetic predisposition). In the past 8 months, my longest remission period has been 2 months. I like the idea of seeing an ocular immunologist, but I have no idea how to find one. I am going to the UK in the spring and wonder if I might have a better chance of finding someone to see there. Thanks for your help.

Re: Iritis in Toronto
Yes,
Mr william Ayliffe is in London that I feel is the best Ocular Immunologist in the UK
in toronto, Dr Dzerko is a good choice from feedback I've had from some people there.
there is a CANADIAN Doctors list in our specialist forum where you can get contact information .
Professor Ayliffe's contact information can be found at http://www.uveitis.org in the PATIENT INFORMATION section of the site, International specialist list.
please join us in our GENERAL discussion forum, ask questions as they may arise and I
will do my best to help. please also know that you are NOT ALONE!
wishing you the very best,
