Cryptococosis can occur in many countries of the World.
a species of this yeast has been discovered in the Pacific Northwest of the USA (Washington, Oregon and northern California), Vancouver Island, B.C, Canada, and mainland B.C. Canada.
the strain is thought to have come from Australia that is especially virulent.
this can cause uveitis. one case in washington state was initially thought to be sarcoidosis but was found to by crytococosis on testing in Oregon.
