recent PreLex surgery

Post by samclaughlin »

I had PreLex surgery on my left eye on Jan 13 and on the right on Jan 20. On Jan 8 I suddenly developed blinding pain, light sensitivity and redness in the left eye...diagnosis, iritis...I was given erythromycin ointment and told to increase my Pred Forte drops. It got better them WHAM!!! Yesterday...back again...... now the right eye is starting to 'feel funny'.....is this common after PreLex surgery. Can the implants be the cause? My vision is 20/20 in the left and 20/15 in the right so I am thrilled with that part. But, this part is NOT good.  Should I be concerned? The Doctor seems not to be very concerned, but then, lots of times they don't when they should be!

Tauman can induce iritis/uveitis in some individuals. if you have a history of uveitis/iritis the success rate of IOL surgery for example is lower than in the general population.
85% vs 95%. sometimes an IOL must be removed too so if this continues to be in flare contact one of the uveitis specialists for help if you can't get it under control with Drops, injections or oral steroids.

wish you the best,
Mike
