WOW PAIN this AM

Post by karengiusti »

Hey all, Woke up this morning at 8am - could not move, my left hip and right hand would not move, therefore I could not move my leg, took over ten minutes to work it out, hand still hurts, hip is okay, I have iritis, have not seen a specialist yet..... soon though.
What is this that is going on now? Any ideas?

I have no Idea and you should call your doctor right away if this has never ocurred before. there are neurological and vascular disease processes that can be related to your symptoms and to uveitis as well as forms of arthritis.
muscle disease processes can also cause pain and dysfuction.

Wish you the very best,
Mike

Now chest pain

Post by karengiusti »

Well it certainly has been a rough day. I have had chest pain all day, hand, hip, head, arm, leg pain all day. I am MISERABLE. I now have a larger rash on my neck which looks like psoriasis. I am afraid to go to bed! Oh well I will give it a shot soon. Oh yeah my neck hurts too - I guess I need some heavy duty pain killers, the ibuprofen is not cutting it. I am also going to try to get into see Dr. Foster sooner than the 26th of this month, I just seem to be getting more and more sick as each day passes, hard to function! I seriously think this has been going on for over a year, well the slow process to this end. My psychiatrist was stunned that my doctor never checked my pituatary gland, due to the fact that I have an adrenal tumor. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! So frustrated, I am crying... boohoo  Oh well, nothing I can do since I am not the doctor. Just suffer..... thanks for listening....
Mike am I doing this right? Posting I mean? I don't think I am... I know you told me to go to the home page and post, that is what I am doing but not sure if it is being seen as a post by other members????? Help.... thanks so much. I so appreciate your attention to my problems and everyone elses.... you are quite a guy!

With all that is going on, you need to be seen by a doctor right away. not just an opthalmologist but your primary Care Physician and rheumatologist or dermatologist.
many of the new Biological medications and research with them as creams to apply to atopic dermatitis and psoriasis, actually heal the skin. Oral biologicals such as remicade humira, zenapax can also stop the diseases going on.
you may also require and endocrinologist for the adrenal glad tumor.
please take a close up picture of the rash on your neck for reference by all of your doctors. make daily notes of where your pain is, function or non fucntion of various joints and rate your pain threshold.

DR Foster can help with your eyes but you need your local doctors to try to manage some of the other things. insistence on specialst care is very important with the complicated condition that you have,

wish you the very best,

SOOOOOOOO I go to my Doctor (PCP) today! OMG

Post by karengiusti »

:x SHE is clueless... I have the iritis, and my Opthamologist sent her a letter, apparently with some blood work to have done. I had to give her the one for the Psoriatic Arthritis - I go to have the bloodwork done and they have no clue what the PA test is, she called everywhere.... so not so sure that will be done. Doc also ordered a CT scan on the adrenal tumor for Wednesday, a recheck AND she ordered an MRI with dye/injection on my head to check my pituatary gland on Thursday. I so hate MRI's never mind the dye that is going to get shot in there... I hate them, hate them, hate them, but I have meds to take. She did not listen to everything I had to say, she does not know half of my symptoms, due to the fact that they make 15 minute appts due to the wonderful world of insurance these days, I felt so rushed and FRUSTRATED - she also informed me and she said "I am not trying to defend myself or our practice but sometimes it take 8-15 years to diagnose these problems that I have been having for about six years. Basically the same complaints except now a few more to throw in there. UGHHHH! Oh I am so frustrated, can you tell? I just want to feel better. My psychiatrist gave me Ambien to take with the 2mg of Klonapin every night, I have a funny feeling I will be sleeping good now! I am losing my hearing in my right ear, do you think I should see an ENT? I have had several ear infections this year, none that hurt, but she saw "cloudiness" in my ear a few times. I have had UTI's, I have Hydrinetas (sp) all over my thights, armpits, under my breasts... These used to be once in awhile, and it runs in the family, but now they just never go away! She didn't really listen to me when I mentioned that. I am seeing Dr. Foster next week and can NOT wait. I know I will not feel rushed and I will feel welcome. A full day but well worth it for someone to listen and figure out the bottom line. Well thanks for letting me vent. I knew the appt was going to be horrible and it was. But oh well, I guess I just have to be patient and perhaps look into finding a new doctor once all these tests are done. Take care and once again, thanks. Oh one more question, do you think that drinking alcohol is a bad idea with all that is going on with me? I do, but would like someone elses opinion. Thanks for being there, my mother would never listen to me like this.... LOL

Dr Foster can order tests for the psoriatic arthritis. SHOW him any skin erruptions ANYWHERE on your body so that he can make the call on what is going on as he IS a Rheumatologist.
please make sure you list ALL things that are going on to INCLUDE HEARING. many times autoimmune disease processes overlap and a situation of 'undiferentiated connective tissue disease' or Mixed connective tissue disease (MAD which is a proper designation not just what you get when at your primary care physician) can occur. the main thing is to get treatment started using appropriate disease modifying drugs if appropriate.

Rarely cancer can be the cause of the uveitis so those tests being done may help doctor Foster in treatment options to come.

your eyes may require MORE dye injections down the road to look for changes in the choroid. things like Cystoid Macular Edema are imaged this way (I've had several angiograms for this over the years) there are less invasion ones that may be needed too so please know that Dr Foster will do his very best to figure this out. for example he has been on two episodes of a program called 'the sickest patient in the hospital' on the health network in the past year or so.

know that we are here to help you in any way we can. you are WELCOME to VENT here.

i will provide a link to a patient health Questionaire that docotor foster uses so that you can start filling it out while things are fresh in your mind. you will have to print it out.

your visit to MERSI will be with several doctors and you may have to return frequently but it will be worth the inconvienience in the long run.

wish you the very best,
Mike

MRI w/Contrast Today

Post by karengiusti »

Oh well another frustration. Still trying to find the condition of the Uveitis. Went to get an MRI to have pituatary gland checked, was supposed to be with contrast. Well after getting poked six times to try and find a vein for that contrast, finally success! Got into the machine after taking my Lorazepam (serious anxiety with these tests) was in there for about 20 minutes, they shut the music off and informed me the doctor needed to talk with me! WHAT????????????
Well come to find out the location of the titanium clip in my head is hiding the pituatary gland. GREAT! So no need for the test since they can't see the gland. I was crying, I can not believe my luck. I just can not get anything done right here at all or I can't do anything right here, I had the worse day due to thinking about the damn MRI all day!

I guess my question is what other tests are available to check the pituatary gland???
Thank you.

Karen,
I have no clue what tests can be performed as I am not a doctor and know very little about this topic other than that you need your doctors input. call and get an appointment and clarification on this.

good luck on your upcoming appointments,
Mike

And I will be sure to tell him hello as I have printed out the postings.
I thought he was a Rheumatologist as well, but I guess seeing someone closer to home would be easier. Not sure where I got that info about Dr. Foster being a rheumatologist, I have read so much over the past month, my mind is on overload. I thank you for all your heartfelt advice and all your research for all of us out here that are new to all of this, I will keep you posted and I know everyone just loves you, you spend so much time for us. Greatly appreciated. It is so true about the article you wrote about family and how they think we are nuts. Glad I have you and everyone else telling their stories.
This is a great service you provide.
Thank you so much!

Dr Foster is a board certified (current standing) in Rheumatology and opthalmolgy and internal medicine. he needs this to teach and to be a ocular Immunologist, familiar with use of chemotherapeutic drugs for underlying disease and for uveitis and OID. he doesn't TAKE PATIENTS ON as a rheumatologist but no one can argue with him regarding proper treatment of autoimmune disease this way. he knows what tests to order too for just about everything imaginable. he has literally written the current textbook on Uveitis and OID.

just join in the ongoing discusson as you feel comfortable with our members. just me responding is getting pretty old. continue to share your experience on your journey too as we ALL learn from each other,

Wishing you the very best,
mike

I am sorry I thought I was speaking in a discussion type forum, I guess not huh? I am very confused as how to do this apparently. I clicked on home, clicked on something, and that is what I have been doing.
So sorry.

general questions should be posted in the GENERAL DISCUSSION forum.
you can ask questions in other forums too and a dialogue can contine there as well.
whatever works for you is fine with me. just the INTRODUCTION forum is limited to moderators replies and once an intro is done, all other questions should then revert to another forum.

I use the RELATED conditions forum to post topics related to Uveitis. people as questions about them or tell their story such as their experience with MS etc.

HLA B27 related uveitis can also be discussed in this forum. I prefer that members post to the GENERAL discussion forum though to make it easier for people to find information by not having to sift through allot of personal posts in the information forums.

Take Care,
Mike
