I just ran across a reputable website run by orthopedic specialists. This website said that Ankylosing Spondylitis occurs in men. Hmmm...that information seems about a decade or two out of date.
This brings me to my point: How many people go years without a diagnosis based on erroneous information circulating amongst doctors themselves? If you have all the clinical presentations, but happen to be the wrong gender, you're out? I wonder if this is why some of us get the response that we "don't fit the diagnostic category"?
Savvy web users know enough to be skeptical of information on the internet, but on a site for/by specialists? Very odd, indeed...
