Dr Lightman or Dr Ayliffe ?

Post by Jemmer »

Hello

I wonder if someone could give their opinion on who would be the best specialist to see, either Susan Lightman or William Ayliffe.
My father has had Iritis for 40 years, and has had an episode for the last couple of months, along with a continuous bad headache for the past 3 mths.
We want the very best doctor we can see and are willing to pay whatever it costs.
Has anyone had any exprerience with either, and which one would people reccommend?
If he goes as a private patient how long would he have to wait?

Thanks in advance

Go to Mr Ayliffe. In my lay opinion he is the best available in London from feedback from members. an appointment could be expedited depending on how serious your Father's uveitis is. indicate what level of urgency is present when you make the appointment. normally it takes about a month.

Wish you the very best,
Mike

Dr Lightman or Dr Ayliffe ?

Thank you Mike for your response!

My father is going to see Dr Ayliffe this coming Thursday.

In 40 years he has never been treated by a proper opthamologist or rheumatologist, and although he would never admit to it,has suffered greatly in silence.

Thank you so much, hopefully he will get the proper treatment by someone who knows what they are doing.

Please extend my best wishes to your father as hopefully Mr Ayliffe can help him.
he is a superb diagnostician and ocular immunologist who should be able to figure this out for you if anything is related to the uveitis.

Wishing you the very best,
Mike
