Iritis since 1970

Post by Jan Fenelius »

Hi,
I have suffered from Iritis since 1970. Usually it flairs up in March or April. Nobody can understand why. At one occasion it flaired up in October. Lately it seems to reoccur every year. My youngest sister has had it a couple of times the same with a nephew. Is there any one else out there that gets Iritis on a fairly timely basis.
Have a lovely day,
Jan

Familial iritis

Post by Mike Bartolatz »

Dear Jan,
If I were you I would run along with my relatives to an Ocular Immunologist. It is EXTREMELY rare for family members to have iriris/uveitis. the odds of genetics and pathogens is causing your uveitis are much higher when this occurs. where do you live?
Please allow me to suggest a REAL specialist to consult with. they are rare but your type of uveitis can lead to blindness if not controlled. Uveitis in children can progress rapidly to vision robbing complications.
you can read about this in the sticky posts in our general discussion forum.

wish you the best,
Mike
