Autoimmune diseases narrowing down
Hi,I have been struggling with Bi-Lateral Uveitis for 6 years. Having about one episode per year. Complications: cataracts, hypopian filling bottom chamber of iris, retinopathy, and permanent posterior synechaie (my pupil is shaped like Mickey mouse’s head at the top of my Iris when fully dilated-been this way for 4 years. I always have big balls of light in my peripheral arc’ing down. Right now, I have been flared up for 8 months! Treatment is Predforte 6 times daily and Atropine as much as I can. Past treatments were injections which worked! But he wont do one now. Anyhow, I cannot see well at all in my Left eye. I also have been recently diagnosed with Graves Disease. And now my hip is beginning to fail me! I am 34 yrs old. My gp sent me for Xrays and bloodwork. Waiting on results. I am HLA-B27 positive. My hip seems to pain me and it cracks alot. My OP thinks it could be Ankylosing Spondilitis. But I have no back pain. My Gp thinks rheumatoid. I got blooded tested for ANA, ESR, Rheumatoid, Potassium and Creatinine and CBC. Do you think these tests will say anything?

Have you tried non steroidal therapy? If you haven't, it might be the best way to move forward.

What do you mean by non-steroidal therapy? Like NSAIDs? Yeah, I depend on them daily. Now, I am getting Ptosis. Its awful.

I am talking about DMARDs such as Methotrexate or Biologics such as Humira. Its really important to visit an Iritis specialist - there are fortunately quite a few. Where are you located?

I am located in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So, I had an emergency visit to my optho Sunday after having blindness in my left eye everytime I stood up. He is sending me to a glaucoma specialist/surgeon.
I guess I now have angle-closure glaucoma, ripened cataracts and inflammation. Pressure was 30 in my bad eye, 13 in the good eye. Pupil went from looking like Mikey Mouse’s head to now a cat eye (pupil is oblong and narrow). The glaucoma surgeon is 3 hours away and waiting list is 4 years. My optho is going to be putting in a urgent request.

Went to a glaucoma specialist and it wasn’t glaucoma. It was Iris Bombe and my pupil is touching my cornea and my iris is bowed out. Got a quick laser to allow aqueous humour to flow.
