Does anyone else get nausea and abdominal cramping when they have iritis? I have been treating my iritis since Dec 9th and started my steroid taper last week. This morning I woke up to a flare of the iritis (eye pain and redness, headache) and now the nausea and abdominal cramping have set in. This is not an unusual occurrence for me to have the GI symptoms with an iritis flare. Just wondering if anyone else experiences that.

When the iritis gives me a headache i feel nauseaous from the pain. Are you on oral steroids? They can cause nausea too...take with food. Hope you feel better.

I am not on oral steroids, just the drops. I ended up back at the eye doctor later that day and she switched steroid drops. I try to taper again on Thursday. As my eye pain lessened once I began using the new drops, the nausea and abdominal cramping went away. I think for me, it is related to the iritis. I don't think it is the norm.
