I'm taking both methotrexate (high dosage) *and* Humira - an anti-TNF biologic - for ankylosing spondylitis, but neither has done anything for my chronic iritis. However, Remicade kept it completely at bay the entire time that I was on that drug. Unfortunately, I had to move to Humira when Remicade stopped working for my AS.

I'm also now starting the use of Restasis - my eye doc and I want to see if it can at least lessen the frequency of the flares, and thus lessen my use of corticosteroids.

I am unaware of Restasis helping with flare ups of uveitis. the molecule is too large to be absorbed by the eye from what I've been told. there is a cyclosporine analog molecule being studied called Luveniq that will hopefully provide a means of topically treating uveitis but the Third phase trial has not started.

I do hope you can find a mix of drugs to treat your AS and your uveitis.

Wishing you the very best,
Mike
