Dr. Stephen Kim at Vanderbilt Eye Institute...

Post by crissy82 »

I have posted on here before but it has been a while. I am currently on my 5th bout of Iritis. The first happened about 7 years ago. Then again a couple of years later. Then again a couple of years after that. But I have had it twice in the past year. I have been seeing an opthomolgist to treat it. The first time I had it my primary care doctor tested me for several things but I think they were mostly infectious diseases. I was looking at the list of uveitis specialists and saw Dr. Kim's name on there. I live in Nashville. I was wondering if anyone has seen him before. I am desperatly trying to get to the root of what is causing this. Thanks in advance for any advice!

it would be a start, but make sure you ask if he will employ a corticosteroid sparing approach to treatment, not just more topical steroids as it is time to move forward with repeated bouts of iritis in the same year. additional tests should also be ordered at this time. repeating previous tests such as ANA etc along with HLA B27, lupus, sarcoidosis, and arthritis tests.

wish you the very best,
Mike
