Does this sound like the beginning of any related diseases?

I have been dealing with iritis for 15 years. For the past 5 years it has been very sporatic. In the last five years I have had bouts of this 6 times. This past time ,wich was 2 months ago, I started having pain in my foot. My GP thought I had possibly hurt my foot so he put me on 800mg Motrin. My foot then swelled up and he then put me on meds for Gout(which did nothing). Now he is sending me to a Rheumatoligist and an Orthopedist. Since this started I have ended up in the emergency room with excrutiating pain in my lower back, and then the same type of pain in the shoulder area of my back. right now they have me on Darvacet just so I can function until my appointments with the specialists. I have had the Lupus, Rheumatoid, Gout, Herpes, and a few other tests. All of which have come out negative. Has anyone else had this type of problem, or do my symptoms sound familiar? Does this sound like the beginnings of any disease?

were you tested for HLA B27 which can cause low back pain in the form of spondylitis, foot and heel pain related to Reiter's syndrome/reactive arthritis.

no link like me but with muscle pain due to fibromyalgia and osteo arthritis etc.

without a doctor re doing tests from time to time one can be left in the dark. autoimmune disease related uveitis not related to the above antigen should be re tested for on an annual basis because the associated markers can take up to a decade or more to show up in MANY individuals. just because you had one test negative doesn't mean the markers won't show up next year etc.
sounds like time to get an Uveitis specialist on board, an Ocular Immunologist, a list of them can be found at http://www.uosg.org under specialist list at the Patient information section of the site.

Wish you the best,
Mike

I was not tested for spondylitis. My Primary doctor just decided to send me off to an Ortho and a Rheumatologist. My appointment for ortho is Oct. 30 and the rheumatologist isn't until Dec. 29, 2008. I am in alot of pain with my foot and shoulder. Do you know of any websites or anything that I can do for the pain until then. I am on Darvacet right now and it is doing nothing for me.

if your foot is involved, with achilles tendon pain, it might be reactive arthritis.

try alternating heat and Ice on the foot. but, don't leave Ice on for more than ten minutes (10) as it can cause FROSTBITE if left on longer than that.

wish you the best,
Mike
