I thought this was an an interesting article, relating to the therapeutic treatment of Curcumin.
I have just started to take Curcumin capsules (95% pure), hopefully will show some therapeutic results. Relating to my on going eye issues & my arthritic condition.
From what I can gather, seems a very safe alternative treatment.

George,
thanks for posting to the site!
Curcumin didn't work for me but it can help some with the seronegative spondyloarthropathies who have the NOD2 gene which causes GI tract problems with arthritis in Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. these conditions overlap with ankylosing spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis. Sarcoidosis shares the NOD2 gene with crohn's and ulcerative colitis. it is triggered by pathogen's in the upper GI tract as is the case for HLA B27 conditions (recent Rosenbaum article).
wish you the best my friend,
Mike

Thanks for the link. I don't suffer from crohn's, but do have IBS, probably related to my AS. Curcumin for me seems very safe, worth a try.

Sub clinical crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis are found in Ankylosing spondylitis patients. the diseases are both triggered by gut pathogens so you many be more of an IBD subset than an IBS patient with AS.
keep getting your intestines checked out regularly,
take care George,
