Hi!

I’m a clinician in oncology and also a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed with multifocal choroditis 20 years ago. I was diagnosed with breast cancer exactly 3 years ago.

I have not had any issues with my eyes until I went to the ophthalmologist on Saturday. He thinks I had iritis since there is an adhesion on my iris to my lens. He found it when dilating my eyes.

I’m being sent to a retina specialist for a second look. I have no symptoms. Vision is fine.

So of course, I did my research...

Here are my questions...

1. Is there any link between iritis and breast cancer? Or are these merely 2 separate issues? (In my 15 years in oncology I have never met a breast cancer patient with a metastasis to the iris?)

2. I did find that bisphosphonates and anastrozole may cause uveitis. I am on both of these medications. Is this common? (Once again, I have never had a patient with this but I thought I would ask)

3. Can u please recommend a uveitis specialist in the nyc / Westchester County area?

Thank you.
