Hair coloring and Medications

Hi, Yall! This week I learned that certain drugs we take for our various disease processes make our hair absorb and react to hair dyes differently. I am 34 years old. I have colored my hair since I was a teen, because I have grays over some surgical scars. On my 30th birthday, I noticed grays for th...

Re: Sorry for my Absence

Mike- I am working with a Vocational Rehab counselor. The rules say that I have to be active in finding employment, too. That is fine. I just don't know what to say when I am asked the inevitable questions. Have you ever seen poke berries? They are a long, tall plant with green leaves, a purple-red ...

Re: Sorry for my Absence

HI, Mike. I get tested and re-tested every year. I have been busy as a one-armed paper hanger. I am looking for work that pays regularly, so I can write on the side until I can get my writing going and working for me. I am having trouble explaining the gaps in my employment history on apps, and why ...

Re: Sorry for my Absence

Hi, Mike- I use Restasis, and I use Lotemax in the Spring to keep the inflammation at bay. The early pollen really gets me and makes my eys really itchy. The doc said use the Lotemax only as needed, so I only use it once or twice a day when certain pollens and mold spores are high. But I use Restasi...

Sorry for my Absence

Hi, All. I apologise for having been so absent from the board. I broke a tooth, which was half-covered with a gum boil ( don't you LOVE Sjogren's?). Monday, I went to the eye guy, who installed permanent punctal plugs. The right one had to be larger than the left, and my muscles that are visible in ...

Re: Still blurry with spots.

HI, Brent. I think you need to see your doc again. Spots like you describe were one of the first signs that I had glaucoma. The doctor may need to reduce your eye pressure with special drops for this. The dialated pupil is normal. It can take a long time for the pupil to return to normal after Atrop...

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Mike- My hands will twitch from time to time, thereby causing me to knock stuff over. My legs will, too, tho not near as often now that my seizures are under control. It IS embarrassing. I once jerked and threw a shoe across the room just as the nurse walked in. Poor girl came thisclose to getting k...

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Hi, Mike- My Easter was good, managing to cook Easter Dinner with lots of help from AJ. Monday, I went to court over the beat down I got in September from my grown stepdaughter. Judge refused to look at all the evidence, disallowed my hearing issues, my lawyer did not do her job. We were both found ...

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Mikey, That sucks! Too bad you can't spend Easter on the East Coast here- we are in the 80's! Will be all week. I certainly hope you can find a way to spend the holiday in a pleasant way, with friends or family. We will be thinking about you here, Mikey. ((((((((((((((((((HUGE HUGS))))))))))))))) Mary

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Mike- Many Vets have the same issues with not being able to talk about certain things they did when they served. AJ has the same issue. PTSD is a real bear. It is very hard when a person has to follow an order to do something they ordinarily would never do. Then to not be able to speak of such thing...

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Mike- I am HLA-B27 Neg. No other genetic testing has been done that I can remember. ALl I know for sure is what they told me in Dr.offices over the last six years. I am a little fuzzy on some details right now. I don't know if you ever smoked, but the Nicorette commercial is right- Quitting SUCKS!! ...

Re: How Vision Loss Affects Mental Health

Hi, Mike- Yeah, I've had the same error messages from that site. Not sure what is up. I am going to wait and see if they can get the issue resolved, then decide whether I want to find another publisher.I understand that htese things happen, but I can't afford to wait around for them to work out the ...

Re: Great News! And Not so Great...

Mike- Optic nerves looked good, there were some ERM's, tho very small. IOP was good. The floaters were old inflammatory cells, and there was an illusion of floaters and a small spot due the dry eye. Yeah, I know, leave it to me to be the weird one... All new tests will be scheduled at the next visit...
