Re: Acuvail for iritis
Don't go off the nsaid drops without consulting doc. I have zero medical knowledge. You should not experience
Pain again. You should catch iritis early next time. Hopefully, it will b seven years. Could b in other eye next time.

Re: Acuvail for iritis
With trace cells, you should not feel anything. I don't know the side effects of nsaid drops. However, they are not toxic like steroids. You would b on steroids if your eyes were inflamed. Blurry eyes should b taken seriously. Have an eye chart on Wall and test your eyes individually to see if your ...

Re: Acuvail for iritis
Well acuvail is basically a placebo for u. My doc did not tell me I still had trace cells. I was on one drop per day for 3 months. I consider that 90 unnecessary drops because I'm so stable. You take the daily steroid drop because it supposedly lowers the chance of new flare-up. My cells lingered be...

Re: Acuvail for iritis
You prolly have a few cells lingering. I assume you sought treatment late. I took a drop of steroid daily for months and cells finally disappeared. I've heard nsaid drops don't work for iritis. Next time, I would not take anything for lingering cells because I know I'm very stable. Iritis only trigg...

Detecting iritis with coffee
Or ruling it out. I sometimes have a spot of red that persists. I just drink a lot of coffee and go for walk. Eye clears up pretty fast. With iritis the red spot is stable. Even With steroids the iritis red only disappears over hours or days. (if caught early red can disappear fast, you can get to z...

Re: Blurry vision
Blurriness is tricky. If cell count is going up u might see corresponding increase in eye redness. I detect iritis at around trace by monitoring subtle redness in eye twice daily. I can tell when I'm down to trace as most red is gone. For my most recent episode, I only needed a day of steroids to ge...

Re: Blurry vision
Purple horse, read your post but your experiences are different than mine. 1. Steroids don't blur my vision much. They improve my vision by reducing cell count. 2. My eye is solid red and tons of floaters before I feel any pain. 3. You feel pain and go to doc and doc says zero cells. Weird. 4. You s...

Re: Catching difficult iritis early is important
I was down to trace on Wed, but can still a red outline around iris today, sat. Reading glasses and good lighting =less steroid. I don't know why I must reinvent the wheel.

Catching difficult iritis early is important
My iritis normally takes 3 weeks of hourly drops to stop. That's when I catch it before any pain.(about 5 days after seeing bit of red) This time, I caught it 1.5 days after seeing a bit of persistent red and only needed one day of drops to defeat the iritis. My iritis is very aggressive but is not ...

Re: Not a complete flare up???
That is not very much steroid. I guess you respond well to steroids. I need hourly drops of pred forte even when I catch the inflammation early. It was extremely important that you went back to doc to confirm that you were free of inflammation. I am surprised that you are able to detect such low lev...

Re: Not a complete flare up???
Read your intro. Sounds like you are hla b27 positive. 90% of the time it stays in one eye. You say u needed oral steroids in one episode. Suggests your episodes are intense. Not sure why you did not go back to doc since may? Putting you on one drop per day with no follow up for months for new episo...

Re: Not a complete flare up???
I'd see a specialist as you seem chronic. How much steroid do u take? My eyes don't get sore until I have a ton of white blood cells. The general rule is zero tolerance for any cells unless steroids cause glaucoma. My first symptom is tiny bit of red in eye. You likely should have resumed the drops ...
