Re: I am on my 3rd bout of iritis..
you need to see an OPHTHALMOLOGIST, NOT AN OPTOMETRIST, you need a Medical doctor not someone who prescribes glasses. yes it would be time to get testing done and a complete medical history taken for yourself and your immediate family in order to determine what is causing your recurrent uveitis. wis...

I do hope you can get some sleep tonight. hopefully it is just the anxiety of dealing with uveitis and starting the MTX.

Re: Nervous about MTX...hlab27+
please see my response to your introduction. your arthritis and GI issues are directly linked to the HLA B27 gene. the GI issues can impact the entire GI tract from your mouth to your colon etc. when Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are involved. large joint arthritis can also be found with or...

Re: New member, just started MTX injections
Welcome to the group! your GI issues and arthritis are linked to the HLA B27 gene. overlap of symptoms occurs and Crohn's disease can impact your entire GI tract, not just the intestines. you could develop mouth sores for example which could also be linked. the arthritis can be in large joints as we...

Re: Hi, New here -- my story/symptoms
Alison, Welcome to the group! HLA B27 uveitis may not end up with one of the seronegative spondyloarthropathies or the enteropathic arthropathies, you may just have recurrent iritis that ping pongs between eyes. this can be difficult to control for some individuals. sometimes adding an NSAID such as...

you shouldn't use plain water while using steroids as if the water is contaminated, you can get an infection easily.

Re: re-occurence
psoriasis and eczema are now thought to be linked through the IL17 cytokine process of inflammation. both are autoimmune conditions. just about everyone with psoriasis will end up with psoriatic arthritis after about 15 years from what I have read. this is most likely your link along with your HLA B...

Re: re-occurence
the things associated with HLA B27 related uveitis are ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis, psoriasis/psoriatic arthritis, Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. HLA B27 related uveitis goes back and forth between eyes. rarely dose inflammation occur in both eyes simultaneously. it is most o...

Re: Looking for advice - recurring iritis
it takes about 850 drops before the start of cataracts so don't be too worried right now. just make sure you always get your eyes and pressure checked out to make sure that the pressure doesn't go up with the steroid. there are NO symptoms in most cases of elevated pressure that can do some damage. ...

fatigue can be a problem with sun exposure with some inflammatory conditions. bring this up with the doctors and take their advice. I am not a doctor.
just mentioned it as it can occur with Sarcoidosis and systemic lupus erythematosus patients in which uveitis can be present.
take care,
mike
