Re: Financial Aid For eye care
Kristi, contact Kevin to see if he needs help with web stuff. I don't deal with that aspect of the site and he owns this site. I just moderate forums and provide links. I'll look into correcting broken links when I get some time. Thank you for pointing this out to me. right now do whatever it takes ...

Re: re-occurence
What was the pressure inside your eye when you had your appointment? Durezol is usually only used for two weeks because it easily increases pressure inside the eye resulting in Glaucoma. in extreme cases severe nausea with vomiting occurs. get in for another pressure check as switching to Pred forte...

Re: re-occurence
yes symptoms can reoccur as you describe, are you using a dilating drop along with the corticosteroids to prevent adhesion between the iris and the lens? this additional drop also helps to relax the iris and the pain should go down. is your iritis in only one eye? do you have a history of cold sores...

Re: Craig - 2nd time with iriits
Craig, Welcome to the group! it might be that using an NSAID such as Celebrex, Dolobid or Naproxen at prescription strength could put this into remission. it would take about 6 months before you would know if it is working in most cases. prescription strength monitored to make sure liver, kidneys, h...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR
Matilda, thank you so much for your very kind words. Yes MERSI and DR Foster are wonderful but they are an exception to the norm throughout the World. He does care about all of his patients and he will go outside the box to try to get them to remission if at all possible from this horrible disease p...

Re: Double Vision
double vision might be from optic neuritis. what is the color of the area surrounding your optic nerve? if it isn't pink, it might be optic neuritis and then you would need IV steroids. get to a neurologist. do you have thyroid disease? this too can cause double vision. you could have an MRI with co...

Re: Prolonged Cloudy Vision
the closest specialist to you that I would recommend is DR Russel Read at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. because you have had uveitis so long, NSAIDs may not work for it. DMARD drugs are needed, drugs like Methotrexate, Cellcept or Imuran to stop the production of the white blood cells cau...

Re: Prolonged Cloudy Vision
suggest you get beyond having an optometrist treating your uveitis and get to an expert, an uveitis specialist to get you off the steroids, Durezol etc as over time it can lead to glaucoma and cataracts. recurrent inflammation can also lead to cystoid macular edema, changes to the retina with new bl...
