Re: recurrent broken blood vessels in the eye

I just wanted to share my experience also, in the hope it may help others battling frequent haemorrhages in the eye as a result of prolonged steroid use. I have suffered several severe attacks of herpetic uveitis, and am just now recovering from my most recent attack which began 8 months ago. As usu...

Re: Daily life and managing iritis

Hi Radlyn, Thanks for your post. How are you? Is your iritis improving after the frustrating roller coaster ride of better-worse-better-worse etc...? I really hope so. I'm an old hand in iritis terms, having suffered a number of attacks since 1984. My attacks have typically been spaced years apart, ...

Hi Mike and everyone,

I found the above article on artificial tears and dry eye treament quite helpful - it discusses the issues associated with preservatives.

Best wishes,
Katrina

Re: Daily life and managing iritis

Hi radlynmendoza, Thanks for your post. I'm a librarian working in the public library system, and clients will often simply ask me outright why I'm wearing dark glasses inside the library. Also, my iritis/uveitis attacks tend to be severe and long-lasting eg my last attack before this current one la...

Re: Adhesion

Hi Mike Thanks for your feedback. I have been using Lacri-lube overnight, but perhaps I should stop...? (I must admit, I hate the bleary feeling.) Other than that, I'm currently using 2 Allergan products, both of which come in preservative-free single dose vials: Optive Sensitive and Celluvisc (whic...

Re: Adhesion

Thanks for this, Mike. I will ask my specialist at my next appointment about the dilating drop. I'll also ask for a pressure and optic nerve check (though fortunately at my last appointment on 20 August both were ok). Lubricating the eye more frequently does seem to be providing relief. I've bought ...

Daily life and managing iritis

Hi again everyone. I wondered if anyone has any thoughts to share about things they've found helpful in coping with iritis in day to day life, managing work, dealing with the stress of living with the disease, etc. I've evolved a few strategies myself over the years (eg trying to minimise stress; re...

Adhesion

Hi all. Just responding to Mike's post following mine introducing myself. Mike, thanks for your post and kind wishes. Yes, my fixed dilated pupil is due to adhesion, which as you note is typical of sufferers from HSV1 (herpetic) iritis/uveitis. Re the eye pain situation, I'm wondering if a dilating ...

Hello everyone

Hi all. I'm new to this forum and wanted to introduce myself. I've suffered recurrent HSV1 (herpetic) iritis/uveitis in the right eye only since 1984, when I was misdiagnosed and suffered my first prolonged and severe attack, leaving me with a fixed dilated pupil. Since then I've suffered 3 major at...
