Re: Eye Pain

Mike, do you recommend anyone on the Cleveland, Ohio list or Durham, NC. My in-laws live near Cleveland. Durham is about 3 hrs away from me. New development: dull, pounding noise in my left ear when I blink or close my eye. This evening, I had some pretty good temple pain. I've never had headaches s...

Re: Eye Pain

Mike, it looks like Dr. Harper is in a place called Fincastle, VA, about 4.5 hrs from me. If this is the same Dr. Harper, she works for Va. Dept. of Health. Any other recommendations. It's a shame that Dr. Nguyen is not in MD anymore.

Re: Eye Pain

Weirdness! I tried to confirm my appointment with Dr. Harper (I had someone else make it for me), and they say there is no Dr. Harper! Can't get in touch with the person who made it for me. I tried to google, but that's the only address that comes up. Anyway, the pressure in eye was 16 so hopefully ...

Re: Eye Pain

@debbie, uveitis is scary stuff, but you're doing the right thing by being on this site and learning. Although it is sometimes information overload and you can get panicked reading some of it, it is better than the alternative of not knowing anything. I wish you luck in dealing with your uveitis. Th...

Re: Daily life and managing iritis

Hi Katrina, For some reason I couldn't figure out how to go to your old posts. I'm glad you feel like you're getting the proper care and hopefully your drs figure out the recurring bouts of iritis. This is only my 2nd bout, diagnosed about three weeks ago. It got better and got worse got better and ...

Re: Eye Pain

Thanks Mike, I hope you had a good Labor Day. I had a trace cell today and the doctor has me drastically tapering off the Durezol. Seems so fast from what I've read. She also told me to stop the dilating drops. The problem is I have had to see two different drs. One was definitely more aggressive in...

Re: Daily life and managing iritis

Hi Katrina, Why do you have to explain why you wear the dark glasses? I wouldn't do it and just try to roll with it. Four years ago when I got my first bout, I had to wear sunglasses indoors. When I met with clients (I'm a lawyer), I would apologize for the glasses. It got so tiring. But who wants t...

Re: Eye Pain

Yay! I went in yesterday and I had only 3-5 cells floating around. This from "too many to count" at the beginning of the week. Tapering the Durezol drops to once every two hrs now and the eye pressure was at 16 yesterday. Went to the rheumatologist as well and he prescribed Voltaren for jo...

Re: Eye Pain

For those wondering about the kenalog injection, it does hurt a lot a couple of hours after the shot and about a day after. Putting drops in after the injection is also very painful. I also had a little bubble on my eye where the injection went in. Every time I turned my eye, the bubble would push o...

Re: Eye Pain

Thanks Mike. My PCP will call to see if he can get an earlier appointment with the DC doctor. I went in again today and got the kenalog injection. For those out there who are scared of the actual shot, don't be - you really don't feel it because it's so numb. It does hurt afterward though. The spot ...

Re: Eye Pain

Thanks for the reply mike. Is posterior uveitis or pan uveitis a more difficult thing to treat? I'm sitting here feeling like an idiot for going from a rare cell ten days ago to 4+. I had all the pain and eye sensitivity the first time i got it so for the past ten days I thought it was getting bette...

Re: Eye Pain

Is it possible to have no eye pain? This 2nd bout i am having now doesn't really hurt - very mild ache at times but nothing like the first time I got it. I am treating with Durezol and have about 10-15 cells last visit four days ago. Is pred forte stronger than Durezol? Finally, I'm a little worried...

Iritis again

Hi Mike and crew, It is Radlyn Mendoza, and I haven't been here for probably about 4 years. I have been iritis and flare-up free since I got rid of the nasty bout I had last time, which took about one year of oral steroids. Mike, you referred me to Dr. Nguyen at Johns Hopkins. I had to stop the NSAI...
