Re: Gluten Free Diet & Uveitis

After sticking with the NSD for nearly a year with only limited success, I took an in-depth food intolerance test (not a blood test, but one that tests 200+ foods, spices, etc), and was told to avoid several key things. Within weeks, my chronically flared eye was quiet, and my severe back and rib pa...

prednisone + pred forte?

Hello Mike, 34 yo HLA B27 reoccurring Anterior Uveitis sufferer, have posted several times here, always with great feedback. I'm wondering if you can help with a quick question that will avoid me having to call in an emergency call to the on call doctor on a Saturday. I was just prescribed 40 mg ora...

eye gate

Has anyone heard of the Eye Gate? It's a brand new noninvasive iontophoretic drug delivery system, that is currently under study at OHSU. I am debating whether to partake, but the lack of knowledge scares me... Will the higher dose of steroid potentially raise pressures and create Cataracts earlier?...

sulfasalazine

I posted my intro a few weeks ago, and pasted it below for reference along with Mike's very educational response... thank you Mike. A week after I stopped taking Pred Forte drops in my right eye and while still on 15mg of oral Prednisone/day, I got a flare up in my left eye. (This past Monday). Due ...

man, iritis is annoying.

Hello all, I am a 33 year old female, diagnosed with Iritis, HLA b27, and A.S. 2 years ago. I am lucky enough to live in Portland, OR where I am in the hands of Dr. Rosenbaum, and the kind folks in the financial aid department at OHSU. I have had 6 flare ups in the past 2 years, some were gone just ...
