Re: Blurred vision
Hi Terry, Where do you live in the UK (name suggests Bridgewater, Somerset)?. If this is the case there is specialist uveitis unit in Bristol. I agree with Mike that you have intermediate uveitis (IU)which is causing the problems you describe. I live in Devon and have similar issues and after some f...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
Hi Bingo, I have also been down this road recently. Could you tell us where in the UK you live. There are 4 specialist units in the UK that treat uveitis and since your GP also thinks you need referral this will help get you into one of the units. The specialist units are in Aberdeen (Scotland), Bir...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
the headache may be from vasculitis. do you have a neurologist involved or a vascular specialist. are your headaches temporal? could giant cell arteritis be the cause? are your eye pains piercing or discomfort? the steroid drops won't reach the back of the eye where posterior inflammation is presen...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
I saw an eye specialist this morning for 5 week treatment check. While the anterior inflammation has cleared there are now signs of posterior inflammation which he was concerned about. Discussed Prof Dick with him and he agreed that it is time for a specialist in the field to see me. Had a phone cal...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
It's 2 weeks since the MRI and have not received any notification of follow-up for this. Saw the GP today to find a way forward because the Rheumy dept can only arrange an appointment in 2 months time. GP has the MRI reports which is clear and the HLA-b27 also clear so they conclude no AS. Explained...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
Thank you for the reply Mike. The major concern of all the professionals looking after me at the time this was all happening was the rapidly deteriorating kidney function without any of the expected causes. I think the major focus was at what point would dialysis be required. Blood tests were all co...

Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE
I have had my first brush with uveitis at 60. My case is unusual and seems complex. After many weeks I was diagnosed with systemic vasculitis by a consultant in the Dept of Medicine after suffering bouts of extreme muscular pain followed by peripheral neuropathy. I also had rapidly deteriorating kid...

Hi from Rob aka TigerOC UK
At the age 60 I have had my first encounter with anterior uveitis. It has been complex and very frustrating. Medical consultants believe that I suffered 6 attacks of vasculitis affecting the circulation to both hands and feet leading to peripheral neuropathy and also to my kidneys which resulted in ...
