I have some very minor arthritis ymptoms. I tested positive for a gene named hl1dr7, which has been linked to psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, so my rheumatologist beleives that my underlying condidtion is psoriatic or spondylo arthrits.

When Remicade does not work any more, what drug should I try

I had been on remicade for Panuveitis for 18 months, and I had no side effects and I has absolutely no uveitis symptoms. I had i.v. treatments every 6 weeks for a year, then every 8 weeks for a while, and then when I went to every 10 weeks my uveitis came back. After the flare up I had injections of...

Remission rates for adults after remicade?

I am a 53 year old female pan uveitis patient of Dr. Foster's. I have been on remicade for a year now and it has been a miracle; I have no uveitis symptoms or inflammation, and I have no side effects from the drug. Before this treatment I struggled with progressing disease for 2 years, trying steroi...

Re: Doses of Methotrexate that work for pan uveitis

FYI, My doctor upped my dose to 25mg of methotrexate, and now after two weeks of that dose(around 7 weeks total on mtx) my iritis is totally gone and my poterior uveitis has improved markedly, as has my vision. My doctors expect continued improvement. Also, I have had no side effects so far from the...

Re: recurrent broken blood vessels in the eye

Dr. Samson in NY told me that one of his patients had some luck with a supplement that she swore stopped her broken blood vessels in the eye. He was skeptical, but he was nice enough to call her at my insistence to find out what it was. It is called Bio Rutin and it is made by Natures Path. I got so...

Re: Doses of Methotrexate that work for pan uveitis

My disease is idiopathic and not linked to any underlying disease or gene, btw. No one had told me to wait to take the folic acid, so I will start doing that with this week's dose. My rheumatologist told me to split up the pills -- 3 pills in the am and 3 in the pm, so I was definitely taking the me...

Re: Doses of Methotrexate that work for pan uveitis

Thanks for the quick response. I live between Boston and NY. In addition to my local retina specialist, I have seen both Dr. Sampson in NY twice and I went up to Dr. Foster in Cabridge twice (I found out about both from this forum, so thank you) so I am in good hands. For the first year of my diseas...

Doses of Methotrexate that work for pan uveitis

I have had pan uveitis for 2 years, and just went on metotrexate. I have been on 15 mg a week for 4 weeks and see no improvement yet. I will be calling my rhumetologist this week, and I expect him to up the dose. I was just wondering what levels usually work, and at what point do they give up on met...

Re: recurrent broken blood vessels in the eye

I am glad you are considering Immunomodulation for your pan uveitis as this is the ONLY way to get it quieted down in a corticosteroid sparing approach to treatment. it may require additional meds be added as well to prevent changes inside the eye from occuring. do you have a relationship to a syst...

recurrent broken blood vessels in the eye

I have been treated with steroid eyedrops over the past year and a half for iritis, and i have also received a steroid shot under the sclera for an inflamed retina. I am now considering methatrexate to get my panuveitis under control (but that is another discussion). I am under the care of good doct...

Cortisone shot in the eye for pan uveitis

I think I just posted this on the wrong board, so excuse me for repeating myself here. This looks like the more correct place to post this question. I am going through my second bout of pan uveitis where my vision in one eye has suddenly become very blurry (unable to read even with magnification) be...

Cortosone injections in the eye for pan uveitis

I am going through my second bout of pan uveitis where my vision in one eye has suddenly become very blurry (unable to read even with magnification) because of the swelling in my macula. Drops do not work because it is in the back of the eye. Last time my doctor was able to get it into remission by ...

Cataract surgery

I have been suffering from vision issues for the past 18 months. I had been originally diagnosed with an inflamed retina in one eye and was treated with steroids. My problems were coming and going so 6 months ago I went to a new doctor and was diagnosed with iritis and uveitis in both eyes and have ...
