Iritis and sinus pain?

Hi there. I've been posting a lot about my most recent bout of iritis, which started in July and has all but cleared up. I still have lingering pain, though - pain that never escalates into a flare-up, but feels like I am on the edge of one about to start. This has been going on for about 2 or 3 wee...

Re: Astigmatism caused by iritis?

I did do a Google search on iritis and astigmatism, and didn't find any significant results, but many websites said that eye injury could cause astigmatism...I assumed that severe inflammation could equal a kind of eye injury, but I'm obviously no ophthalmologist. Another strange question...I think ...

Re: Astigmatism caused by iritis?

Thanks for the response, Mike. I guess I find it hard to believe that a serious vision change developed over a two month period and just happened to coincide with a case of iritis! I'm only 24, and have never had astigmatism before this case.

Astigmatism caused by iritis?

Hello everyone, Am mostly (I hope) recovered from my recent bout of iritis. It started in July and was fairly severe, but now I am on only one drop of prednisone a day, and eye doc said I can stop today. I told him that my vision was still affected, and he checked my eyes, and said that I just need ...

What do you see?

Now that I am finally recovering from this flare-up, I can see a lot more out of the affected eye, including some strange visual disturbances that happen suddenly, often comically so. A few months ago, the New York Times did a few pieces written and illustrated by migraine sufferers, who attempted t...

Blood work & physician visit

The first time I had iritis - about four years ago - I was told to go to any doctor, explain that I had gotten uveitis, and request the appropriate blood tests. I did so, the doc wrote me a script, and called later to say that all of the tests were negative. The eye doc and reg doc told me that some...

Vision Loss

Another question for everyone - I've had iritis for the second time for about 2.5 weeks now, and all I can see out of my right eye is a bright white blur with a vague swirl of colors. I don't remember the vision loss being so severe the last time I had this. How many of you have experienced vision l...

Re: Steroid Injection

Thanks, Mike. I don't think there is a virus involved - last time I got this, they ran all the blood tests and found nothing that might be causing it. I will definitely find a pair of glasses at the drug store tomorrow. In the meantime, I read on one of the threads that you had gotten these injectio...

Steroid Injection

Hello all, I am new to the forum and am going through my second bout of iritis. I am also on the road, unfortunately, on a 5-week roadtrip with my friend, which has meant that I've been to 3 different doctors now in 3 different states. The last one gave me a steroid injection yesterday at around noo...
