Back again (cap in hand)
I've been away for quite some time now, and I was a little apprehensive about posting here again. It seems I'm only here when I'm getting a flare-up. Actually, I'm just getting over one (the second time in my right eye). The problem this time around is that although the inflamation has been gone for...

light flashes/pulses
Wow... I was reading a few of the threads on the circular light flashes that a lot of iritis sufferers are experiencing. I never made the connection until now and I started getting iritis about 13 years ago (when I was 30 years old). I think the reason I never made the connection was because I first...

This is interesting. I realize there is nothing to support this, but my recent experience is quite similar. I had an old filling replaced on Oct 4. My flareup started on Nov 15. The strange thing is that the flareup is in my right eye. It has always been only my left eye. The dental work was done on...

Appointment with specialist
Mike,
Just an update... I've got an appointment with Dr. Derzko in Toronto, but not until Feb 12. My Opthamologist says that's actually alot earlier than he expected. Go figure.
Meanwhile, I'm now suffering with a full blown flareup in my right eye.
Thanks for your help,
Scott

Iritis from back pain meds or back pain itself?
Mike, I should mention that, when I was originally diagnosed I underwent all the blood tests etc. and arthritis was ruled out. I haven't been tested since then, but my flareups haven't been as extreme either. They are also less frequent than earlier on (my last flareup was over a year ago). I'll def...

Iritis from back pain meds or back pain itself?
I've had iritis in my left eye for 13 years. The original flareup came following some long term major back pain I was experiencing and I was taking Robaxacet for. Over the following 13 years I experienced back pain on a number of occasions, but never took Robaxacet for it. I had more iritis flareups...

Drugs with adverse effects in opthalmic patients
Mike, Could Methocarbamol (Robaxacet) be included in this list? I've had iritis in my left eye for 13 years. The original flareup came following some long term major back pain I was experiencing and I was taking Robaxacet at the time. Over the following 13 years I experienced back pain on a number o...

dryness
I just visited my opthamolagist today and he told me that sometimes iritis will clear up on its own (no more flare ups). The damage cannot be reversed though. I had never heard this before. If it's true, that would be something to hope for. I forgot to ask him about the dryness. My flare up has once...

Just a thought
I'm just coming to the end of another bout with iritis (my second over the past eight months). I noticed that my eye seemed to feel the worst when I first woke up in the morning, particularly those mornings that my sinuses felt very dry. I have had a problem with dry sinuses for most of my life (I'm...

Mike, Sorry for not responding earlier. Thank you very much for the contact info. My flareup is now under control, but you're right about wanting to take care of underlying cause. Do you think I should contact this doctor directly or go through my opthamologist? I don't think my doctor would be offe...

here I go again
Mike, I actually live in Canada. I wouldn't mind living in California in the wintertime though. Are you aware of any specialists in Canada? I'm about an hour north of Toronto. I went through all the testing about ten years ago and they found nothing. It's interesting to note though that the iritis s...

here I go again
I was originally diagnosed with iritisin my left eye in 1994, and I had about 1 flareup a year until about 4 years ago. I read somewhere (possibly on this site) that some people were having success with selenium tablets so I decided to give it a try. I think it worked but, because of the nature of t...
