Re: UK MEMBERS, POST HOW YOU GOT TO A SPECIALIST HERE

It took me several years to get to see a specialist. I had returning uveitis, several times a year switching between the eyes. Every few months I would spend the day in the Eye casualty department at Dudley Road Hospital. I never had any blood tests or x ray, when one doctor would arrange for these ...

Update! Poss AS and Anti TNF

Hello Mike, Not sure if your remember me, but you inspired me over a year ago, to write direct to a uveitis specialist and change doctors as the NHS would treat symptoms and not look at the big picture. As I result I am now under the care of Phil Murray at Dudley Road hospital and was referred to a ...

What country are you in? Have you thought about perhaps seeking legal redress?
There are many successful civil cases in England regarding problems with Lasik.

just a question

I've recently developed vertigo, the doc says its probably because I had flu recently.
Is it possible that this is not linked to uveitis and HLA B27 or do you know of any link? I sometimes feel I'm falling apart as well as falling over now.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but its one thing after another.

Hi Ktking, I would guess you are in England. Me too! The NHS do not hold to the NSAID theory used by the American experts. The Brits like to use topical steroids and treat each flare in isolation. In America, it seems they have a different approach whereby they look for underlying systemmic cause an...

My flares of uveitis always happen in the second part of my cycle, when oestrogen drops.
Can I ask you a question, little personnal but I'm curious.
Do you tend to bloat after eating pasta or bread etc?

Hi Mike

Managed to get to see a specialist here in England. My last bout of uveitits was in both eyes back in May. Since that time I have had no flare ups. I'm on 2 drops of pred forte every day in the left eye (this helps with the cornea scarring which has left that eye unable to focus clearly, and one dro...
