Drug induced iritis question .
Hey y’all Had a question about drug and iritis. I’m going to be put on PEP which is a combination of truvada and Isentress due to a possible exposure to HIV and I was wondering if these drugs have the potential to induce iritis , and if so is it better to not take it? I’ve taken these meds in the pa...

Re: Tapper off Pred forte
Good to know. Yeah must be the tapering off the oral prednisone. Today is my last day of 10mg . Started at 40 mg two weeks ago and gradually came down, a bit of a heavy dose, but my iritis was really bad. But no eye redness or blurred vision now, so has to be from the oral. Thanks brotha.

Re: Pred forte and cataract
Nice . Any meds that can limit damage are well worth trying Incase if future flare up. That seems to make sense, I think you have to be using the steroid over an extended period for it to really cause damage. Thanks Vancouver !

Pred forte and cataract
Just curious, how quick can Pred forte cause cataract? Does it need to be a repeated use over months or can weeks cause it?

Re: Iritis cells thru pinhole
Oh okay I understand. Yeah it must be residual. Strange tho because yesterday my vision seemed better. Could be overthinking. I need to let it alone and just stick to med Regimine and then re evaluate in a day or so. When you have flare ups, how do you normally monitor it ? Thanks again for helping ...

Re: Iritis cells thru pinhole
got ya. yeah this is my first bout of it so its all experimental for me and my doc at this point. but uping the predfore to every 3 hours seems to be helping my vision less blurred so that's good. If I can avoid the oral steroids the better. but that's good to know tapering is very important, and no...

Re: Iritis cells thru pinhole
thanks Vancouver, just got emailed from my opthalmologist. they want me to up my pred forte to 8 times a day today, and decrease the oral prednisone. It seems they want me to be off that more than anything else. is this usually your regimen during flare ups?

Re: Iritis cells thru pinhole
ok yeah Im still learning but this is great information so I know how to avoid a nasty flare and posterior synachaie. I do notice more cells in my iritis eye than my other eye, so this could be cuz I'm tapering off the oral prednisone too soon? they had me on 30 mg last week and cut me down to 10 th...

Re: Iritis cells thru pinhole
ok thanks for replying. I have no scarring. but yea they look like little circles, not clumped together tho. Yea I do notice my vision getting more blurred in that eye also. I think I should contact my ophthalmologist to see what treatment they want to me do, if any. I hope this goes away on its own...

Iritis cells thru pinhole
Hey got a question about iritis cells, I was advised to look for them thru the pinhole, and I did and seen some circular looking objects in small clusters. Should I start applying the Pred forte drops once an hour ? No other symptoms besides that tho, and I’m on my last week of oral prednisone 10 mg...

Iritis and astigmatism
Hey everyone , So I’m on my third week of battling my first iritis flare up, and have been on Pred forte drops and oral prednisone. Got checked today and the inflammation is all gone, except for some KP on my cornea and endo pigment, I’m assuming residual from the bad inflammation and the posterior ...

Re: Irregular pupil shape when dilated
Thanks for replying and helping me out guys. The synechaie released, thank god. But now they said there’s endo pigment in my cornea, and my astigmatism has got worse. Is this normal for after having posterior synechaie and you think it will go away ? And did any of you experience worse astigmatism a...
