Working through iritis

Hello all,
I've just introduced myself at https://www.iritis.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... ess#p14495
I work as a freelance journalist (sub editor/copy editor), paid by the day. The job involves reading stories on screen and editing them, then adding a headline.
The consultant said I should take two weeks off but I'm balking at this. I don't get sick pay and I need the money to live.
My eye feels fine now the drops have taken effect. Is there any reason I should not go back to work fairly soon?
Thank you.
Willie
