they can remove the steroid from inside your eye with a vitrectomy and put a solution inside your eye to keep the proper shape. this is done when steroids cause problems like yours. it is also used to treat intermediate and posterior uveitis. please contact Professor Ayliffe once again for an evaluation for this. you need a second opinion right away. and yes the damage to the eye from high pressure is over time usually not for a short period of time. what does the optic disc look like and what about the optic nerve head?

this is why I tried to get you to reconsider the steroid injection into your eye and suggested Professor Ayliffe to you originally
they could have injected too much into it too. this is also why I don't like steroid implants as they will cause cataracts and glaucoma too.

professor ayliffe works within the NHS there in the UK as well as privately.

wish you the best,
Mike

It is odd because what steriod that is left is just under the conjunciva i dont suppose it is in the vitreous. I'll ask next time i go. I dont know what the optic nerve looks like because they dont tell me, they only say its fine. They use a slit lamp with my eye undilated, is this okay?

ok, you said INTO the eye and I assumed you ment into the vitreous chamber. you had an injection to the outside of the eye under the conjunctiva. sorry for the confusion.

Unfortunately the pills dont seem to be working, no sign of the steriod going and now im seeing rainbow halos around white lights :( im seeing the consultant on tuesday first thing so hopefully they will know what to do and if not, i'll ask them to refer me to someone that does. Worried about glaucoma and cateracts. I am never having this steriod injection again if i ever need it.

Eye still bulging see below:-

Steriod still in eye, the creamy colour at the bottom of my eye (its more yellow on real life), 4.5 months on from perioccular subtenons steriod injection:-

This is really odd, after 4 1/2 months it should have totally absorbed.
the halo's are concerning so get in immediatly for a pressure check as you have indicated.
Professor Ayliffe would be the specialist to see in London if you can. he can be emailed and that would get you in sooner. the extra steroid can be removed by using a needle biopsy like proceedure.

I am so sorry for your current dilemma. reminds me of how I was treated 40 years ago.

God Bless,
mike
