Hi,
I've had iritis/uveitis in both eyes for about a year and a half. My opthamologist has had a rheumatologist handling my immune suppressants and testing. All tests have come back negative except for a positive ana. Subsequent testing for lupus came back negative.
In addition to these 2 doctors, I'm now also seeing a retinal sepcialist because of macular edema.
Today, my rheumy suggested that I find a specialist in Chicago or Iowa.
Can anyone suggest a good Uveitis specialist in these areas?
Thank you.
Diane

Dr Tessler is in Chicago. his contact information can be found at http://www.uveitis.org in the patient information section of the site.
he is highly recommened by Dr Foster at Harvard and the Ocular immunology and Uveitis Foundation.
he should be able to help you figure out what is going on and sent up a steroid sparing approach to treatment treating the underlying autoimmune disease once he has figured this out for you.

please join us in our general discussion forum where we can help you through this. ask any questions you may develop and I'll do my best to answer them.

wish you the very best,
mike
