Re: Avastin injections
Have you ever tried these Avastin injections? My doctor hasn't mentioned this treatment to me yet, I wonder if he's familiar with it. Is it covered by low cost health insurance? I want to wait and see if there's anyone I can talk to about it before trying a new treatment.

Re: Avastin injections
Avastin injections are used to treat new blood vessel growth and cystoid macular edema. they are not used to treat uveitis alone.
they have been around for several years (about 10) now and work quite well. better than corticosteroid injections INTO the eye for most individuals. often a small amount of steroid is added to the avastin injection. there is risk associated with any injection into the eye especially from infection.
do you have uveitis?
wish you the best,
mike

Hi Mike,
Thank you for your explanation. It was very helpful. I was recently diagnosed, so I'm still trying to figure out what my options are.
Thank you!
