Iritis and seasons?
has anybody else noticed they only get iritis durring some seasons? i have noticed i get mine from spring-early fall, but never the winter? I think it might have to do with being in the sun or something. has anyone else noticed this?

Re: Iritis and seasons?
if you have allergies, this can sometimes cause the immune system to secrete various compounds also seen in uveitis which can set off renewed inflammation if your genetics are so predisposed.
some pathogens are also present seasonally which can also trigger this type of response. the flu virus for example.
a sinus infection could also trigger renewed uveitis and a very large number of patients mentiont this to their doctors. getting any infection controlled anywhere is key to getting uveitis calmed down. the same holds true for any systemic disease, control of it will help keep the eyes quiet.
some autoimmune disease processes have skin reactions which can trigger uveitis. Lupus for example, sarcoidosis etc.
hope this helps,
Mike
