I Apologise for my Absence

Post by mtbargeman » Wed Oct 20, 2010 12:19 am

Hi, Yall,

lately. I have been remiss in my position as moderator. The reasons for this are many. First, and foremost, even in this economy, I have found work as a writer, after roughly six yeears of being so unstable in my vision and other health matters, that I could not work. Lately, I have found work as a freelance writer, eventually gaining a byline at http://www.worldnewsheardnow.com. Just today, I gained another contract at codenamemom.com, as a blogger/ contributor. The site is still being built. I have also sold a children's story to an interactive website called FamilyClick.com, and in about 18 mos, it will be available on Amazon as an E-book, or in paper and ink form.

My vision was so unstable for roughly six years, that I could not possibly have worked at anything. Now I am stable. I am also productive, and if I work hard enough, I will get off Disability. That is my goal. We all need goals, and we all need to work toward them. Getting your vision and your disease under control is number one. Once you do that, the sky really is the limit. Don't let your OID define you. You should define and name it, then treat it properly. After this, you can chase any dream, accomplish any goal. Trust me. I know from esperience, folks.

Keep your heads up!

Mary

Hi, Mike!

After a long day of being absolutely vilified for telling the truth, it feels good to come here and not be judged. Today's post started quite the angry avalanche at my work. Tomorrow will not be better. The way I keep my contract, however, is to be provacative, to tell the truth, and to make people think and to even be angry. Today, they were quite angry. Oh, well.

I will catch up with posts here tomorrow morning BEFORE I do my regular work, and before I even check my email. I do want to help others who may be in the same or a similar situation. It's been a long hard road to get to where I am now, and I still am not where I WANT to be. I am determined to get there, however, simply because people told me I could not. I really hate being told I cannot do something. It is one thing to be unable to do because of the law- that takes a lot of time and effort of a lot of folks to change. To be told I am unable simply because I am different thatn the "norm', is altogether different...

you can't get upset with ignorant people. the TRUTH may be hard to take sometimes but it is better to tell the truth and be able to live with yourself than to say nothing or to gloss things over. They may not agree but that is their choice. Many people fail to educate themselves and believe what they want to believe.

best wishes,
Mike

Mike,

Exactly. I don't get angry with the commenters most of the time. Every once in a while, I get pushed a little too far, because the attacks get a bit personal. That particular atricle was the first such avalanche I ever started. I admit to being a bit surprised. I have had negative comments, but never before had so many personal attacks at one time. Oh, well. Eventually, they will realize I only told them the truth truth they hated to read.

They can't shut me up. If people face to face can't make me be quiet, trolls on websites won't do it, that's for sure! LOL!

SMILE!!
