Still blurry with spots.

Post by bmats16 »

It's been about six and a half weeks since my Iritis attack. I'm down to taking prednisolone once a day, but looks like my affected eye is still dialated. My vision is still a bit blurry, also there is spots that are more blurry in my vision, sort of like when you look at a flash from a camera. Is this common and will it go away with time? Is this cataracts or something else?

Wondering,

HI, Brent.

I think you need to see your doc again. Spots like you describe were one of the first signs that I had glaucoma. The doctor may need to reduce your eye pressure with special drops for this. The dialated pupil is normal. It can take a long time for the pupil to return to normal after Atropine or Homatropine treatment. GO see your doc ASAP. Get a specialist in Ocular Inflammatory DIseases, located under "Find a Specialist" on the Board Index. Get on Immune Modulating thereapy, as well. A lot of folks start with methotrexate. See a Rheumatologist for this, with a referral from your eye guy- there is less fighting this way.

DOn't be intimidated because they have half the Greek ALphabet behind their name on a diploma. Advocate assertively for your own care, because no one else will. I screwed that up, and now I am blind. I've just re-learned how to eat and look like a human being again, as well as having my appliances marked, being told to use my white cane at all times, being taught how to clean things, etc. Will soon be receiving extra mobility training. It stinks on ice! See the doc.

Thanks for the advice, I went to my doctor and the pressure was 13. The blurry spot is scarring on the lens, does that make sense? He said that it will probaly not go away : (

did he test you for possible Cystoid macular Edema with an Optical Coherence Tomography test or order a fluorescein angiogram to look for this as well? if there is distortion in the lens, should you develop cataracts later on, it will be eliminated by intra ocular lens impants.

wish you the best,
Mike
