Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hello, So when are you scheduled Mike for you MRI? Really hope it turns out not to be MS. And think Frances has quite a compeling story there. And we probably all hear the it will be okay but that is what love ones want us to think so that is what they tell us. Sometimes you just want to vent. And w...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

HI Mike, I'm very impressed with the comments below by Dr. Foster. You truly are a special person with what you do and how you help others in a world where sometimes we forget there are people like you. And you too Bobi with your help with getting me into the NIH for an evaluation and all the other ...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Went to the opthamologist today and he said I need to put warm compresses on my eyes for 3 to 4 minutes twice daily and then add moisturizing drops.. and see him in 3 weeks.. you really can't tell I have anything wrong I...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi, Since there is talk of eye watering I noticed for the last month my eyes are watery sometimes and it kind of drives one nuts and was told it could be dry eye.. Probably will see my regular opthamologist on this one but odd when I have not had this problem in the past and being on prednisone I wo...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Dennis, I do know you can email Dr. Heckenlively if you have questions but like you sometimes I wonder if they know what I have. I think it is so rare and hard to identify that there is confusion even to them. I do not know much about Azoor and wonder if he tells you have that or if you have Air ...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Mike, I have heard some unfortunate stories from people who go through the VA. Glad you had help in resolving your appointment and hope it brings some hope and promise for you. And yes the civilian world is not so perfect either but at least there is not so much red tape I think. And Dennis I too...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Mike, I read on your condition and it appears Dr. Foster is a researcher in this area so can see the relationship. And I read of the injections you have to have to be agressive with the condition. I know when they do the glaucoma test on me my daughter, if she happens to be along, cannot look whe...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Bobi, I guess I was confused and did not realize this was an infusion which is exactly what I was told.. I guess the confusion came in when I was told in the beginning (my first visit with Dr. Heckenlively) that I would either be put on oral meds, an eye injection or nothing. So it was in my head...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Bobi, Thanks so much for the information. Is really good to know there is no placebo as that gives me a much better feeling for the trial. Would love not being on prednisone if that would be eventually be the case. It is really hard stuff to be on. I will contact the nurse you gave me the email o...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi Mike, I feel bad the family does not want to hear about your condition but maybe it is just too painful for them to hear about it.? I remember when I first learned I had something serious how everyone kept telling me it would be okay but all I could hear in my head is I would be going blind and h...

Re: Autoimmune Retinopathy AIR

Hi, Well I was told I might be a candidate for the ritux trial but that will be determined by the doctors and I will not know until after the 4th of July. If I am selected I will need to go to the NIH and be evaluated. Was wondering what the evaluation looks like and how many visits are required. Al...
