Wow, could this be a cure? A daily preventitive at least? I asked my wife (shes a nurse) what a subcutaneous injection was and I guess it is simply an injection in fatty tissue. Could be in the arm or abdomen. very exciting stuff!!
good news indeed

Sad indeed
Almost wish it was VD so it could be explained away and treated. Though I am sure my wife doesn't! Frustrating for sure. But I am not giving up just yet. Thanks for the Support and the new treatment under trial sounds encouraging? Would that be an injectable or would it be drops like the Pred forte?...

not sure
Will write the Ombudsman for sure. Might be able to get a civillian job on base but even that would be a compromise. Really want to keep my carear. Anything less would be a dissapointment. May write my MP (member of Parliment ). as well. Just so frustrated. I dont know what to hope for anymore. Do I...

Broken Bones and Iritis
Hi Mike Still fighting to find out what caused my bouts of Iritis as I am still unable to sail. Next week I have a appoinment with my GP, he will review my file and likely give me another 6 month medical Category. Unless they find what caused it and are able to treat it, I will likely never sail aga...

No joy, No joy
Hey Anthony Been there buddy, I know. Spent the last year working up for this deployment only to be pulled from the big game just before the puck drops (Sorry everyone speaking cannuck here). I felt guilty being home over Christmas knowing my shipmates are in the gulf. Its going to be awkward when t...

Hey Mike
Yeah, thought it was quite odd myself about the glasses. Mind you it was the Millitary who just examined my eyes. I explained to them that I had had a perscription for years. Thier response was that the civillian DRs were simply trying to sell me glasses. Typically speaking my eyes are fine. On the ...

Currious Myself
Hi To be honest I do not know, but I have wondered myself. Since I have gotten this I have been very watchfull of everyones eyes (not just my own). I have noticed that my sons eyes often get blood shot as well (he is four). Probally just being over sensitive, but it does concern me. I know my father...

Hey Anthony
Yeah my eyes get red from time to time as well. For a while they were looking really evil, but they seem ok now. They often feel dry, and god knows I have experemented with every type of eye drops out there. If you go to the MIR they will give you thera tears for free as often as needed. For me, hav...

Hi Anthony
Buddy do I ever hear you! I spent the last year sailing crappy shake down sails for this big deployment, dreading it and at the same time yearning to get it done. I had my self pysched up for it, had the money from the trip spent in my mind and had a list of hot spots I wanted to hit while away. The...

Hi Anthony Sorry to read about your bout with Iritis, I know how troubleing it can be. I too am in the CF (navy) and I have been wrestling with this condition since march. I have had one serious case, and a seccond minnor case about six weeks later that most likely was the first case reoccuring. How...

hey mike thanks for the info! will have to make yet another appointment to see the gp to get him to check on thyroid as well. Seems to me that he has given up on me, and is waiting for me to be released so that someone else can deal with this. Iritis is far more then he wants to deal with. I am just...

Thyroid disease and Uveitis
HI everyone Since my uveitis appeared bilatterally on two occasioins, the doctors involved are concerned there may be an underlying disease process. To date they cannot find any and all the usual tests yield nothing. Good ANA, clean chest xrays and negative HLAB2. However in talking with my mother i...

Do wean off properly
I have had a two cases to date, One very severe and one minor one that I believe was a contiuation of the first. I went from a drop every hour to a few times a day to nothing. In my case it slowly crept back in about five to six weeks. I spent about six weeks weaning of the drops for the seccond cas...
