Re: Can Severe Eyestrain Cause Iritis?

it is probably coincidental that your Ipad and iritis occurred at the same time. you have psoriasis and either the HLA B27 haplotype is present or the IL23R receptor is on your cells that has lead to your iritis. be aware that you can get uveitis in the middle and back of your eyes as well and the s...

Re: acute iritis: 1 drop of pred forte/day for maintenance?

it might be more appropriate to go to an NSAID such as Celebrex, Dolobid or Naproxen at prescription strength for six months to see if it can quiet your eyes down. if it does you say at prescription strength for two years before tapering off. personally I would NOT stay on a drop a day indefinitely ...

Re: permanent synechiae and glaucoma risk?

dilating drugs or even cocaine applied directly to the eye can sometimes break the adhesion depending on how bit it is. sometimes one has to wait until cataract surgery is done to break this adhesion.

what is the 'underlying cause' of your uveitis?

Re: Vascular pulsation effect

this is possible detaching vitreous or optic neuritis. if you start seeing a lot of larger BLACK dots, it could be bleeding so get to the hospital. so that laser can be done to seal off the bleeding. if you see loss of vision it could be developing Cystoid macular edema with the fluttering or epiret...

Re: Psoriasis

yes they are linked through the IL23R receptor that causes inflammation through the IL17 pathway of inflammation. if you have failed methotrexate then the IL23R blocking drug Stelara may stop the recurrent nature of this. you are very young and may well have a VERY long history of uveitis which can ...

Re: Hashimotos and iritis

Hashimoto's, Psoriasis and iritis are linked to the IL23R receptor that triggers inflammation. If you have moderate to severe Plaque psoriasis the drug Stelara which blocks the IL23R receptor MIGHT calm things down. one must try other drugs such as Methotrexate without relief in order to get the Ste...

Re: Iritis without KPs?

your vision could return to about normal in a few weeks once you are off all steroids and off the dilating drops. you may require new prescription lenses however from time to time to keep it 'normal'. always buy 'insurance' for your glasses as your vision could change every few months with this stuf...

Re: Iritis pain

often pain is associated with adhesion between the iris and the lens from what is known as synechia formation, basically pus like accumulation. getting inflammation down is key to getting the pain to go away in most cases. brow pain can also be present. if you see 'flashes of light' this could be si...
