Long Term Effects? : Tropicamide Ophthalmic Solution

I was prescribed this drop not to long ago. Honestly, I haven't been taking as prescribed. I tend to forget. Anyways, I usually take it before bed as its a dilating drop. I took it this morning, and I could see very clear now. Not things up close, like words on a monitor but things from a distance a...

Uveitis for 20 years. Will I for sure go Blind eventually?

I've had uveitis since I was 4 years old. My doctor growing up, would always say that he hopes I have vision till I'm hundred years old. I don't think my case has worsened really, atleast for the past couple years. Actually went up to Cleveland to just get a 'second opinion' and they gave me a new a...

News Broadcast about LX211

My local news did a small report on uveitis : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EfTR3wVwCo This may sound weird but.. I wish there was some way I could contact the girl at the beginning. Having someone to talk to who's going through similar problems would be nice, especially since she's a local. I can...

Re: Cataract Surgery, some questions...

Thanks for the reassurance. I put the surgery off for about a 3 months, even though the doctor was ready to go a week after I had seen him. This makes me want to get it done sooner!

Cataract Surgery, some questions...

Hey, I haven't said anything here for a while, but I've been visiting my doctor for a while now (Dr. Kaplan, Louisville KY) and he brought up cataract surgery the last time I visited. What's weird is, when we first brought up surgery, he sent us to Dr. Mohay (sp) and we saw her for about a year. The...

Sorry for not replying sooner, I have an appointment on sept. 26th to see Dr. Kaplan now though. I'll check into seeing a rheumatologist. I think I'm gonna get a physical soon too, haven't had one in a while. I did pick up some polarized sun glasses and they help amazingly in day time settings. Than...

Thanks Mike, I guess I could wrap this thread up, you've basically told me what I need to know. But, alot of it is foreign to me, because I don't know a whole lot about my case. It would be greatly appreciated if you could maybe type out some things that I should ask/talk to Dr. Kaplan about when I ...

Now let me get this right, 1.) you had JRA as a child with uveitis. 2.) you have only been given corticosteroid eyedrops to treat your uveitis. 3.) Dr Kaplan sent you to another doctor to treat, not initiating a steroid sparing treatment algorithm, allowing your uveitis to continue to smolder using...

it truly saddens me that you are getting this kind of treatment by the way. I know that Dr Foster would have you on some form of sytemic therapy especially since you have lost one eye. if Columbus Ohio would be easier for you to travel to, Dr Dino Klisovic is a very good ocular immunologist. I woul...

get in to see DR Kaplin for your uveitis, ask if you can try something other than just steroid eyedrops like an NSAID such as Celebrex or Dolobid. he can fill out paperwork to get the drugs for FREE if you have little or no income. there is a link to a couple of agencies that help with paperwork to...

Thanks Mike :)

Thanks for the quick response. I actually am seeing the doctor you recommended. Kaplin. He's a very nice doctor, and seems to have a bit more knowledge than my previous doctor, Dr. Douglas in the Louisville. I've been seeing Dr. Kaplin for I believe around 3 years now. But, I haven't seen him in nea...
