Re: Floater Issues?

I've had them for years. Your brain will actually ignore and retrain itself to not see them over time. I know this sounds crazy and remember when I was first told this. Also I've heard as you age your eye change consistency and the floaters can slowly move out of your site of view. You are a bit old...

It can take several months before you will see full effect so don’t give up.

Re: Pediatric uveitis specialist

Yes, if you can make the trip to see Dr. Foster he is the leading specialist. I don't know how far of a drive that is, but even calling his office to get advice for other doctors that treat children would be a great idea.

Maybe the steroid drops? It's not contagious so you shouldn't worry too much.

Re: Worried about my IRITIS, shoukd i trust the consultant

I want to respect Mike's privacy but would like to say we all have health issues that complicates screen time. I do see him off and on through facebook groups sharing is vast knowledge. He is a tremendous asset to the iritis community and other communities he has helped out with and wish him well. =)

Have you seen an iritis specialist? You can find a list on Dr. Foster's site. http://www.uveitis.org/patients/list-of-specialists

Re: Recurring Iritis

It's the Humira that is probably doing the best it can at keeping the flareups down. It worked extremely well for me. I didn't have any flareups the time I was on it. It slowly stopped working for me and had to change medications. The anxiety is a cycle you should work to break. The anxiety can actu...

Re: IBS low-starch diet

I've tried it and it did work some but not 100% for my AS. Fortunately the iritis is in remission with biologics but the AS still doesn't respond the same way. Diet does help with any autoimmune disease but everyone of us is different so there isn't an easy answer. I have a chapter on diet and how i...

Re: Blurry vision

That's great news. Everyone is different in how they respond. I like to do the focus test where I focus on a distant object and then a close object (reading distance). Doing this quickly would always cause some pain when I had an episode coming on or recurring. Any slight increase in redness around ...

Re: Lens stuck to pupil

So synechiaes normally make the pupil look out of shape because it doesn't consistently stick in a perfect circle. Mine made it pull out sort of like a tear drop look. If you are fully dilated this could be another problem.

Re: Blurry vision

The eye drops can definitely be causing the issue. If they aren't see any additional inflammation in the eye, I would say the drops are the problem and will eventually clear up as long as the iritis didn't cause any long term vision problem.

Re: Such a thing as 'mild' iritis and can it pass on its own?

To me dry eye and iritis feel different. One way I can tell if I'm getting a flare up is to test my iris muscles. I can focus on a distant object and then place my hand reading distance from my eye and force it to focus. This will cause slight pain when a flare up is coming. Everyone is different so...
